- The aim of this report is to help improve and strengthen the quality of childbirth education in New Zealand. The report, by researcher Dr Sarah Dwyer, was funded by the Families Commission in association with Parents Centres New Zealand Inc and the Parenting Council, May 2009.

Maternal and Child Oral Health - Systematic Review and Analysis - A report for the New Zealand Ministry of Health

This report looks at the evidence for pre and post-natal factors that affect the future oral health of children. It includes a survey of the literature on the causes and indicators of early childhood caries, and the effectiveness of different strategies to improve infant oral health. The implications of the findings for future research, policy, and service delivery are discussed.

- Author: Seini Taufa. Explores the issues of Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy and Fetal Death with particular reference to Pacific people, indigenous and minority groups. Reviews the current literature available with the aim of providing ways in which a workforce development plan can be initiated to offer training in maternal health and provide services for those who have lost infants.

Biblical precepts about raising children, which emphasise positive nurturing and non-violent discipline, which at heart means teaching and showing rather than punishment are outlined.
